Guided reading

Guided reading walks you through an owned text one manageable section at a time. Each day is sized from how ready your deck is for that work and how many minutes you want to spend (about 45–60 by default).

Start

  1. Open Read and choose a text, or open Goals.
  2. Tap Start guided reading.
  3. Read the outline of a typical day.
  4. Choose the scope (whole work, one book, or a section range) and your daily minutes (30–90).
  5. Confirm. The first lesson opens.

The suggested length on the Read list uses your current coverage of the whole work at 50 minutes a day. Setup stores a snapshot for your chosen scope so later lessons stay predictable.

A typical day

  1. Short review of yesterday’s words, sentence meanings, and passage.
  2. Learn the new words today’s section needs.
  3. Read that section.
  4. Checks on sentence meaning, those words, and the passage.

Every 7 lessons, and at the end of a chapter or book, the next visit is a larger review with no new text. Missing a day continues at the next section.

Progress

Scores for each lesson appear on Goals. You can change daily minutes there; the end date follows that pace. Vocabulary coverage for the goal stays on the same page.
