Use translations
Create and manage span translations beside the source text while you read.
Before you start
- An open text in the reader — Open a text
Create a translation
- With the primary mouse button, drag to select a span of words in one section of the text.
- Wait for Lexorium to generate a translation panel for that span.
- Read the translation in the panel under that section’s English (beside the source on larger screens).
Covered source tokens are highlighted after a translation exists. Each panel sits with the other panels for that section, under the section English — they are not lined up word-for-word with the span you selected.
Edit or remove a translation
On a translation panel you can:
- Edit the text and Save
- Delete the translation
- Dismiss a pending panel when appropriate
Translations are yours alone. Other buyers of the same text do not see your panels.
Limits
- Selections must stay inside a single section. Cross-section selections are ignored.
- Re-uploading catalog text by Lexorium can affect older panels if section structure changes; your translations stay tied to the span you selected at creation time.
Troubleshooting
- “Could not translate this selection”: try a shorter span inside one section, then select again.
